Skoda’s replacement for the Octavia, due for release by the end of the decade, will share a platform with the next generation Volkswagen Golf. These renderings sourced from CocheSpias, depict a car that features almost identical styling to the current model. However, for its next iteration of the Octavia, Skoda is aiming to improve on interior space, with new model expected to grow in size to almost the same dimensions as the current Passat sedan.

Variations of the new car will still utilize VW’s Haldex 4x4 system for an estate model, which may even spawn a Scout crossover. VW’s lineup of fuel efficient engines will carry over to the new Octavia, including the 140hp twin-charger TSI motor mated to a DSG transmission in a range-topping model. Other engine options include several four-cylinder turbodiesel and petrol units.
