John Cooper Works, the creators of the original 1961 Mini Cooper, has applied the performance treatment to the new MINI and has come away with a vehicle that’s sure to be a menace. Performance figures are yet to be released, but these latest images of the modded car give away some key details. The kit will include a more aerodynamic bodykit, a blacked out grille plus a carbon fibre hood scoop.

At the rear, the team has added a large rear spoiler to improve down force at high-speeds in addition to an optional diffuser in the rear bumper. Large 19in alloys, upgraded brakes and a strut brace under the hood complete the performance package. Inside, the car receives new sports bucket seats, chequered floor mats and shift-light indicators and since this is a dealer-installed kit, it comes with a full factory backing including a warranty. Sales of the complete kit aren’t expected to start until early 2008, but we’re sure some of the parts will be available as dealer accessories in the mean time.
