Skoda has launched its new Roomster Scout MPV, which joins its Octavia Scout sibling in the Czech brand’s crossover lineup. Based on the standard Roomster hatch, the Scout grows in all dimensions and rides on unique 16in alloy wheels as standard. Other visual enhancements include the plastic molded side-cladding and new bumpers with silver highlights.

Power comes from two four-cylinder petrol engines ranging from 1.4L to 1.6L and developing 63kW and 77kW respectively. For diesel fans, there are three oil-burners ranging from 1.4L to 1.9L with a maximum output of 77kW. All engines are mated to a five-speed manual but the 1.6L gasoline motor can come with an optional six-speed Tiptronic auto.

The Roomster Scout is going to have a world premiere at the Essen and Bologna motor shows in early December. The market launch is planned for March 2007.
