Audi specialist Abt Sportsline has released details for its latest creation, a supercharged version of the R8 that pumps out a supercar rivaling 530hp (390kW). Set to be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show later this year, the Abt R8 is expected to closely resemble these teaser images that were released this week.

The front of the car will feature Abt’s trademark bumper styling, while the rear gets four inclined exhaust tail pipes, a rear diffuser and a monster rear wing. The addition of these aero parts is said to increase downforce and improve balance of the front and rear axis. Completing the aero package are the Abt R8 sideblades and side skirts, as well as an array of carbon-fiber panels including the lightweight bonnet.

Take a peak into the engine bay and you’ll be greeted with Audi’s familiar 4.2L V8 engine but with an Abt supercharger bolted on. Final output is 530hp (390kW), 110hp (81kW) up on the standard model. To match the go, Abt have added a set of unique 20in BR wheels and an adjustable sports suspension set-up. The end result sees the force-fed R8 reach 100km/h from rest in a brief 3.9 seconds all the way to a top speed of 317km/h.
