Brabus has upgraded its B63 S tuning kit for the hand-built 6.2L AMG V8 engine and is now offering the package for any AMG Mercedes model fitted with the amazing powerplant. Engineers have boosted the power output of the high-revving V8 to 550hp (404kW) and peak torque to 650 Nm. The sprint time from rest to 100 km/h is just 4.3 seconds for the Brabus prepped CLS 63 AMG, and top speed is set at 330km/h.

The kit comprises newly programmed engine electronics with special mapping for injection and ignition. Also, the intake side features a sport air filter for improved supply of combustion air. The exhaust side features high-performance metal catalysts with low back pressure that also ensure that the tuned V8 engine meets stringent EURO IV emission limits.

If applying the kit, Brabus has many options that it recommends to its customers. First up is the Brabus locking differential for all RWD models. Then there are the obligatory modifications to the tires, suspension and brakes. The tuner provides upgrades for the wheel and tires, a new control module for the ABC suspension settings that can lower the ride-height by 20mm, and finally, Brabus stabilizers that reduce body roll and optimize turn-in.

The most important addition, however, is the Brabus high-performance brake system. It is available for all Mercedes 63 AMG models, and upon customer request it even comes in a special version with ceramic discs. The front axle features huge 380millimeter discs and 12-piston aluminum fixed calipers, while the rear is fitted with six-piston fixed calipers and 355mm brake discs.
