The 2010 BMW Z4 has officially been revealed. Click here for all the details and images.

This new prototype seen driving around the streets of Munich was initially rumored to be a new BMW-badged rival for the Mercedes-SL as well as the next-generation Z4 Roadster. It’s now thought to be just a facelifted version of the current Z4, and is tipped to hit showrooms in the second half of next year with a possible Geneva Motor Show debut in March.

As the spy images reveal, the new car keeps the same basic proportions as the current model but gets a revised front end with an enlarged grille similar to that seen on BMW’s CS concept. The rear of the prototype also sports a more rounded shape and new taillights.

Following the release of the convertible, BMW will be launching a new coupe version and is likely to introduce a new M-Coupe complete with the new 4.0L V8 as shared with the M3 range. Head over to AutoGespot to see the images in full or click here to see a rendering of the new car.
