The idea of a super-fast SUV usually arouses thoughts of the infamous Porsche Cayenne Turbo but with a little help from a tuning company Mercedes’ ML63 has been turned it into a 4WD powerhouse. By fitting two Garrett turbochargers Kleeman was able to lift output to the tune of 800hp and an electronically limited 1,000Nm (737lb-ft) of torque.

The standard ML63 7G Speedshift gearbox needed no modifications to handle the massive power increase and easily transfers every horsepower through the 4-Matic drivetrain and out to each of the 20in Kleeman TS-7 wheels. Running on Pirelli P-Zero Rosso tires and fitted with an EBL suspension modification, the big SUV handles more like a sports car.

The raw performance data for the twin-turbocharged ML63K places it at the very front of the competition. The 0-100 km/h acceleration time is achieved in only four seconds and the SUV continues the brutal acceleration right up to the electronically limited top speed of 300 km/h. Luckily performance brakes are also fitted to bring the 2.5 ton beast to a standstill if ever the necessity should arise.

A limited production run of the ML63K is currently not finalized, but several elements of the car are already available from Kleeman.
