A 1958 Chevrolet Corvette owned by General Motors CEO Dan Akerson sold at auction late on Friday for $270,000. All proceeds from the sale will now go to the Habitat for Humanity charitable organization, which aims to revitalize the Morningside Commons neighborhood on Detroit’s lower east side.
