Update: The eighth installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise has received the new title 'Fast 8.' Lead actor Vin Diesel had previously announced the movie would be called 'Furious 8.'

No matter what you do, you can't stop the Fast and the Furious franchise.

It's now entered its perpetual motion phase and the world is preparing itself for the eighth installment.

That film is set to arrive on April 14, 2017. We've known the release date, and now we have a new movie poster to back it all up. It's simple. It's basic. It's like a plain white t-shirt and jeans... oh, like what Vin Diesel himself is wearing in the poster.

Diesel released the poster this week on his Facebook page and in the process confirmed that the movie will be called Furious 8, and not Fast 8 as previously thought.

Although we're still a year out from the debut, the movie is already generating plenty of buzz. For instance, the poster on Diesel's Facebook page has already been liked by well over 2.2 million people. That's probably better than that one photo of your cat that you posted earlier. Also, Mark Zuckerberg himself probably didn't notice or click Like. It's okay, we know your cat is cute.

Maybe if you put your cat next to your '70 Charger or add nitrous and a body kit to your feline friend, then it would achieve social media glory like this movie poster. Don't post boring cats. Post cats that like to go fast and make loud noise. Basically, you need to buy some manner of jungle cat is what I'm saying here.

CHECK OUT: Charlize Theron to play villain in 'Fast 8'

Right... the movie! Some of the other things we know about the movie is that it will be primarily set in New York City and directed by F. Gary Gray. It will also feature some big names new to the franchise such as Charlize Theron and Scott Eastwood. It will also be followed by at least two more movies in the franchise.
