Unless it's Boeing, we ain't going. In this case, we're in luck because that's precisely which company built the engine powering a go-kart that's popped up on Craigslist. According to the seller, you're looking at a Boeing 502-12 gas turbine engine. The engine is related to those that Boeing originally developed for use in Naval helicopter drones in the 1950s. Now? It's ready to launch you into the great beyond while strapped atop a go-kart.

The seller is asking for $10,500. Honestly, we have no idea if that's a good price or a terrible one. We don't often deal with jet-powered anything unless it's strapped to a jumbo jet that's whisking us to the next automaker vehicle launch. This engine should be good for around 300 horsepower, but the listing says it produces 300 pounds of thrust. You can't simply swap the two as one measures force and the other measures power.

Still, whatever the engine is throwing out, it is more than enough to get this kart moving quickly. So if you're a man with nearly $11,000 burning a hole in your pocket and a strong disregard for personal safety, we suggest you buy this thing asap...and then let us film you trying it out...from a safe distance, using a zoom lens.
