The 81st running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is just over a week away, and the testing has begun. Here, we get to see Oliver Gavin wheeling the #74 Corvette C6R around the famed street circuit during this week's damp test day.

Apart from rather miserable visibility at points, there's also the issue of going flat-out through changing surface conditions and varying levels of standing water--and "flat out" in a Corvette race car at Le Mans is very nearly the Oxford English Dictionary definition of the term.

Amazingly, despite the blistering pace, Gavin has no serious "moments", smoothly applying throttle, brake, and steering to navigate the monstrous water slide like it's a walk in the park.

We'll be at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in person this year, so stay tuned for more coverage.
