Our spy photographers have spotted the coupe version of the upcoming 2014 Mercedes-Benz S Class, a car that will replace the current CL Class. It’s one of a handful of new S Class variants that will eventually include a convertible and extra-long Pullman.

The first details on Audi’s next-generation A5 have hit the Web, revealing that the new car’s development will follow an evolutionary route. Lighter weight, more powerful engines and an electrified version are all planned.

Although the latest MkVII Volkswagen Golf has been on sale in Europe for the past several months, we won’t be seeing the car until the first half of next year. This is because the new Golf, which lands in the U.S. as a 2015 model, will be built on a line that’s still under construction at Volkswagen’s plant in Mexico.

You'll find all of this and more in today's car news from around the High Gear Media network, right here at Motor Authority.
