Aston Martin has lent its name to a luxury pram built by fellow British firm Silver Cross, which has been building baby “carriages” since 1877.

The new pram, whose official name is the Aston Martin Silver Cross Surf, costs 2,000 British pounds (approximately $3,000) and will be offered exclusively through luxury retailer Harrods.

As Carsguide tells us, only 800 examples will be built and each will come with a certificate of authenticity plus an engraved plaque finished in brushed chrome.

Elements shared between the pram and Aston Martin’s cars include Alcantara trim for the seat, premium leather used for the handle and aluminum wheels designed to match those on the limited edition Aston Martin One-77 supercar.

The luxurious pram also gets "air-ride" suspension, which its maker claims provides a smooth ride and comfortable pushing.

Sales commence next month.

If you’re an Aston Martin fan but looking for something other than a pram, the automaker offers a range of other personal items through its official online store. There are some beautiful die-cast models, posters and leather goods, and most of these are actually very reasonably priced.
