Memorial day weekend is approaching, and for NASCAR fans, that means the Sprint Cup cars will be running the Coca-Cola 600--and of course, the Nationwide Series will battle it out in the Top Gear 300. This is a quick look at what to expect from the scheduled events.

The Nationwide Top Gear 300 will show on ABC at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 28. Fox will kick off its coverage of the Coca-Cola 600 at 6 p.m. on race day, May 29.

For those fans lucky enough to attend in person, events for the Nationwide race are already underway, with the practice sessions 1 and 2 in the books. Ricky Stenhouse, Kevin Harvick, and Matt Kenseth set the top three times in the second session, though Kyle Busch, Kasey Kahne, and Alec Almirola weren't far behind. Even Kimi Raikkonnen, the Finn and former Formula 1 world champion, kept within a second of the leaders, finishing the practice in 18th.

On the Cup car side, the race lineup is set with Brad Keselowski setting the pace at 192.089 mph, A.J. Allmendinger close behind at 191.693 and Carl Edwards in third at 191.686. Denny Hamlin, Jeff Burton, and Jimmie Johnson round out the top 6.

Looking ahead to Friday and Saturday, there are  a host of events for attendees, including the Coca Cola 1/4 Mile Cookout and track walk at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, an autograph session from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Dirt Track Concourse, and on Saturday, the pre-race action for the Top Gear 300 kicks off with the spectator gates opening at 9:00 a.m. and the green flag waving at 2:30 p.m.

Sunday's Coke 600 sees the spectator gates open at 12:30 p.m., with pit tours from 12:30 to 4:30. A military demonstration starts at 4:20 p.m. on the front stretch, with driver introductions at 5:30 and the green flag waving around 6:00 p.m.
