Saab has announced that it will be teaming up with Swiss tuner Hirsch Performance to launch a range of aftermarket products, including power upgrades, for its 9-3 and 9-5 models this spring.

The new parts will be available for all 2007 to 2011 model year Saab 9-3s and all 2010 and 2011 Saab 9-5s, and initially will be available only in the U.S., through select dealers.

Similar to fellow luxury brands BMW and Lexus, and their respective BMW Performance and F-Sport aftermarket accessories brands, Saab will be installing the Hirsch aftermarket products through its own dealers so as not to affect the warranty or emission systems of its cars. In fact, installation of the Hirsch parts within 60 days of sale of the new vehicle will give the consumer the same warranty as a new vehicle.

So what can we expect? Hirsch engineers have worked hard to put together a performance engine calibration for the Saab 9-3 and 9-5 2.0-liter and 2.8-liter engines that provide an additional 30 horsepower.

Hirsch also offers a wide range of performance products specific to the 9-3 and 9-5, including wheels, exhaust systems, aerokits and interior trim details. Specific items include the aforementioned 30 horsepower upgrade, brought about by a remapping of the respective engine’s control unit, as well as a performance spring set, sports exhaust, rear deck lid spoiler, carbon fiber aerodynamic ground effects kit (front splitter and diffuser), four-piece grille set.

Moving to the cabin, Hirsch offers Saab’s customers aluminum pedals, leather trim and a carbon fiber instrument panel.
