Kimi Raikkonen and co-driver in car at Rally Spain
At the speeds and level of aggression required to drive with the top tier of the World Rally Championship, it takes only a millisecond's mistake to end up on your roof, the day over, and out of the points. Kimi Raikkonen gives us an excellent illustration of this point from Spain.
Watching Raikkonen dance the car through the early gravel portion of the fated stage, it's clear that he's pushing very, very hard. Once he hits the tarmac, the car's attitude cleans up a bit, but that little burst of confidence may be what cost him the stage finish.
Coming in too hot to a sharp left-hand bend, Raikkonen appears to drop the right side of the car into a ditch, rolling it on its lid and inspiring some Finnish cursing and mumbling.
