Junior Seau's Cadillac Escalade being hauled back up the cliff -- via TMZ
Once one of the most feared linebackers in the NFL, Junior Seau is now tackling a different kind of enemy. Arrested on suspicion of domestic violence this morning, he was then released and promptly drove his Cadillac Escalade off a cliff. Seau was injured, but survived.
Further details are sketchy--the initial report came via TMZ, and it's not clear if Seau's beach-tackling cliff dive was intentional or merely the result of what must have been a very emotionally difficult night. The investigation into the matter continues, while Seau is being treated for his injuries at Scripss La Jolla Hospital. Judging by the tracks leading to the edge of the sandy cliff, however, Seau wasn't braking at the time.
Whatever the motivation for Seau's plunge, the 12-time Pro Bowler and nearly 20-year veteran of the NFL may have just made one hard-hitting safety testimonial for the Cadillac Escalade. See more photos of the accident at TMZ at the link below.
