It should be obvious by now, but with a dozen gold medals in the pool to his credit, and some DUIs and a fresh car wreck on the road, Michael Phelps should probably just stick to the water.

This time, the Speedo-wearing player is reported to be unhurt in an accident Thursday in Baltimore. Phelps was driving a black Cadillac Escalade when his vehicle collided with another at around 9 p.m., according to CNN. The female driver of the other car was taken to the hospital, but two passengers in Phelps' SUV were unharmed.

Police don't expect alcohol was a factor in the wreck. Phelps does have a prior DUI, but has largely been keeping quiet since being caught on phonecam smoking a bong earlier this year, and after being called out for doing the manwhore thing, with three-ways with hot Vegas strippers.

His Corn Flakes modeling career may have gone soggy, but Phelps probably will be fine. After all, he's the winningest swimmer in Olympic history, with eight medals won last year in Beijing to go with those he took in Sydney in 2000 and in Athens in 2004.

That has to be enough endorsement dough to keep him in Chivas and dollar bills until London 2012, right?
