It's often said that the engineers at AMG have an unhealthy obsession with horsepower, but they can't really hold a candle to Edo's engineers. For Edo, the verdict was unanimous: 457hp and 600Nm is not enough.
In order to set the C63 AMG right, Edo has installed a number of modifications including a newly developed high-performance exhaust system, exhaust headers, high-flow catalytic converters, new air filters and a recalibrated ECU that conveniently dispenses with the pesky speed limiter. The result of all these engine upgrades is a boost of almost 100hp to the standard C63 AMG's output, giving it a grand total of 555hp and 501lb-ft of torque.
All that power helps push the Edo-prepped C63 AMG to a top speed of 199mph and will also take the super-sedan from standstill to 62mph in just 4.3 seconds. Additionally, the new exhaust system features butterfly valves to make sure the car has a bark to match its bite.
Finally, a set of lightweight 19-inch wheels is also on offer, shod in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires that Edo claim should be able to handle the extra grip required from all that extra horsepower - although you'll still probably see the traction control light flickering constantly.
