To commemorate Lotus’s achievements in this year’s British GT3 Championship, the company has launched the Exige S British GT Special Edition. Lotus and its racing partner Cadena were crowned Team Champions for the season and have so far competed in thirteen events with one more to go.

Based on the hard edged Lotus Exige S, the GT Special Edition follows the design of the GT3 race car, complete with the quad-stripe paint scheme, Lotus Sport Cadena decals, silver 7 twin-spoke forged alloy wheels, new sports buckets and unique ‘British GT’ badges. Under the hood resides the familiar six-speed supercharged 1.8L four-cylinder engine, which enables the lithe racer to reach 60mph from rest in only 4.1 seconds, all the way to a top speed of 148mph.

However, Lotus has created a GT Pack that has been designed specifically to enhance the car’s performance for those drivers with even more extreme track day aspirations. It adds another 25hp (from 218hp to 243hp) plus 15.4ft-lb of torque, and drops the 0 to 60mph sprint to less than 4 seconds and increases the top speed to 155mph. Completing the package is the uprated brakes with 308mm diameter 2-piece front discs with four piston callipers and 2-way adjustable Öhlins dampers with uprated springs.
