This inconspicuous looking vehicle from Honda may just appear like any other mid-sized crossover, but the JDM Crossroad comes with seating capacity for seven passengers, optional 4WD and even hill-start assist. Powering the Crossroad is a range of 1.8L and 2.0L four-cylinder engines with i-VTEC, a system that retards intake valve closure timing under low engine-load driving conditions to give better low-end performance.

Inside, the car gets a suede finish, a sculpted dash with four irregularly shaped gauges plus the option of either Titanium Ivory or black trim. The new real-time 4WD system operates as front-wheel drive under normal driving conditions, sending power to the rear wheels as needed. Completing the mechanical package is the front suspension that features a McPherson strut design, while at the rear is a compact, reactive-link, double-wishbone set-up.

The Honda Crossroad is scheduled to go on sale on the 23rd of this month in Japan, but unfortunately there are no plans for the launch of the versatile vehicle in any other markets.
