Infiniti has previewed its next generation mid-sized CUV with this official rendering of the EX Concept car that’s expected to make its debut at the upcoming New York Auto Show. Based on a revised version of Nissan’s modular FM platform, the EX Concept rides on a 112in wheelbase and picks up the latest VQ series V6 engine mated to a five-speed automatic gearbox. Other features include a speed-sensitive steering system, vented disc brakes, and electronic aids such as brakeforce distribution and brake assist. Other safety features include side and rear-mounted cameras to eliminate blindspots as well as a lane departure warning system.

Inside, occupants are treated with a spacious leather-lined interior with aluminum trim and ambient lighting systems. Mechanically, the car differs from other Nissan models thanks to rear shock absorbers that have been positioned lower to accommodate the increased cargo capacity. Completing the package is an AWD configuration and 19in wheels shod with 245mm rubber.

A production version is due by the end of the year, but it will most likely miss out on the unique liquid crystal glass roof panel that can switch from transparent to translucent at the touch of a button.
