Mercedes-Benz has a number of important model facelifts coming over the next couple of years with cars like the CLS, SL and B-Class all scheduled for a major makeover. The first of the revised models however will be the facelifted version of the SLK, which is reported to make its debut at next year’s Detroit Motor Show.

The freshened range will get a new front-end with revised headlights and bumpers, a slightly updated interior and new style alloy wheels. According to the guys at Autotelegraaf, the high-performance SLK55 AMG will be replaced with the SLK63.

The naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 should output the same 457hp as seen in the C63 saloon but the arrival of the AMG won’t be until at least a year after the introduction of the updated SLK. The first cars should be in showrooms by the second quarter of next year.
