The RK Motors Collector Car Auction is set to get underway in Charlotte, North Carolina from October 31 through November 3. It's not your average auction, however, as it features several supremely iconic vehicles representing a variety of drivers and disciplines in the world of motorsports. It's not often that Mario Andretti, Ivan Ironman Stewart, and James Hunt are all mentioned at the same time, but those worlds will collide when this auction gets underway.

This auction block will see a variety of cool cars, but none are much cooler than those that hit race tracks across the globe. A McLaren M26 raced by James Hunt is being joined by the 1974 Viceroy Gurney Eagle that Mario Andretti raced at the Indianapolis 500. Dale Earnhardt Sr.'s 1977 Chevrolet Nova is up for sale, and this car was used to win numerous races over the 1982 and 1983 NASCAR seasons. A 1978 Chevrolet Camaro raced by AJ Foyt is up for grabs, and it will compete for dollars alongside the multiple Baja-winning 1994 Toyota PPI Trophy Truck that Ivan Stewart piloted to many victories.

To say that this auction features a few amazing machines is a massive understatement.

This auction is attracting attention from buyers and collectors located all over the globe. In fact, the McLaren M26 driven by James Hunt is actually being auctioned off via a simulcast as the car is located at the seven-star Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi. It's a fitting location as the hotel sits adjacent to the Abu Dhabi race track, and the auction takes place the evening prior to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

We have no idea what these various vehicles will fetch, but we imagine the sky is the limit for a few of them. With the recent release of Rush, the bidding on the Hunt-driven McLaren could be a record breaker.
