Cake Boss crew build 2,000 pound Bumblebee Camaro cake

Transformers 3 - Dark of the Moon doesn’t open in theaters for another week but in the lead up to that the amazing day we have a very different preview of the film to what you're probably used to. A few months ago the crew from TLC’s Cake Boss cable program managed to build a 2,000 pound cake molded into the form of the Bumblebee Camaro from the Transformers series.

The massive cake was first shown outside the General Motors display at the 2011 New York Auto Show back in April. We now have a video showing the cake, which was made by Carlo’s Bake Shop of Hoboken, New Jersey, as well as a little of its arduous construction process.

It took about four days in total to make, and is essentially a big vanilla pound cake with butter-cream frosting.

The third installment in the Transformers series opens on July 1. Check out the previous trailers for the film by clicking here.
