Alfa Romeo celebrated its centenary anniversary earlier this month but you’d have hardly noticed as the automaker’s poor financial state meant there wasn’t the expected new model launchor any significant celebration to speak of. Nevertheless, luxury French watch company Chopard didn’t forget, releasing a whole new timepiece collection to mark the occasion as well as its own 150th anniversary.

The range includes the new GT XL Chrono Alfa Romeo in stainless steel or black DLC-coated steel, as well as the new Gran Turismo XL Alfa Romeo, all of which feature a black dial with red hands and indexes as well as the logo of the two brands. Their 44 mm diameter cases are also water-resistant up to 100 meters and are protected by glare-proof sapphire crystals.

The three versions are issued in limited and numbered editions of 500, and all come with Chopard’s Dunlop tire-inspired rubber wristbands.

Chopard already has close links with the world of automobiles, having been for the past two decades strongly involved in classic racing as sponsor and official timekeeper for the Mille Miglia race, "la corsa piu bella del mondo". This same race also just happens to be one in which Alfa Romeo cars reached the highest number of victories, in total eleven.
