Toyota is known for its bland and economical offerings, but the Blade is at least one indication it’s trying to improve its image. Compared with other hatchbacks, it gets a stylish exterior, improved interior, and a 2.4L engine with 7-speed Sports Sequential Shiftmatic CVT transmission. Also included is a raft of safety features such as of VSC (Vehicle Stability Control) and TRC (Traction Control) systems, SRS side and curtain shield airbags and driver's seat SRS knee air bags as standard on all vehicles in the series.

Inside, you get seats made with leather and Alcantara, electric driver’s seat, smart entry, and an engine starter button. Buyers can also option Toyota’s parking assistance system.

The Blade gets a new suspension system for improved handling, bigger brakes, and improved NVH with the help of sound deading materials.
