Nissan’s upcoming GTR is easily one of the most anticipated sports cars of the decade, and it seems the performance bug has taken control over at Nissan’s product planning division. The carmaker’s image of late has been skewed towards the SUV segment, but this may soon change with latest reports suggesting that there will be two other sporty newcomers joining the GTR.

The first of these will be a production version of the Urge sports concept (pictured), which was unveiled at last year’s Detroit Auto Show, reports Autocar. Development of the new model is said to be in the early stages, with Nissan’s UK division reported to be in the process of benchmarking competitor models to determine what specs the future model will have to meet.

Before we see the Urge, Nissan will likely launch the next-generation 350Z. The styling for the new Z34 will be an evolution the current model, and it’s said to feature the same silhouette as the Z33. The new Z’s mechanicals are also expected to be similar to the current car, but hopefully engineers will add Nissan’s new 330hp VQ37VHR powerplant.
