The debut of the all new 2008 Impreza WRX STI is still several weeks away but in the meantime Subaru has released another teaser shot of the car, this time from the rear. Like the first teaser, the new shot shows the car in barely any light. In addition to the flared wheel arches, we can see that the car gets a quad exhaust tailpipe arrangement, an integrated rear diffuser and the same ugly clear plastic taillights as the rest of the Impreza hatch range.

Expect to see at least 300hp (224kW) and 450Nm of torque developed by the car’s 2.0L turbocharged boxer engine. Subaru will also be using its traditional symmetrical AWD system and a conventional six-speed manual. There’s no word if STI engineers will be able to match Mitsubishi’s new Evo with their own dual-clutch gearbox.

You can catch even more of the new STI by checking out some spy shots of the car testing at the Nurburgring that we posted earlier this month.
