James Glickenhaus is clearly a man who loves cars. He loves them so much, in fact, that he wants to create new ones to bring joy to the world. He started creating fabulous machines back in 1971 when he converted a Lola T 70 race car into a machine he could drive on the street.
Years later, Glickenhaus would take a Ferrari Enzo and rebody it to form an homage to the glorious P 3/4 Ferrari race cars. That car was called the Ferrari P4/5 by Pininfarina, and he even created a racing version called the P4/5 Competizione.
Now, however, Mr. Glickenhaus is ready to take on a new project, and it will be the first machine created under the SCG emblem. This is James' own brand, and it stands for Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus. The new car is called simply the SCG 003, and it's just been teased a bit on Facebook. The early word is that the car will weigh in at just 1,600 pounds and be powered by a twin-turbocharged V6 engine. Rumor has it that this should be good for 500 horsepower, which is more than a lot considering how light the vehicle should be.
The goal with SCG 003 is to produce a car that's both powerful and beautiful, so we're eager to see the final results. Heck, just a sketch would do at this point. If you look closely at the end of the video when the SCG 003 logo is shown, you can see a quick flash of a C being added to the end. Stand by for a street version... and a racing version.
