Volkswagen is making a habit of grabbing advertising space at Super Bowl games, and 2014 will be no exception with its fifth consecutive Super Bowl advert.

Though the company hasn't yet released any details of its latest ad, it's sure to follow in the popular footsteps of some of its previous ones. At next year's Big Game, says VW, its advert will focus on "the brand's tradition of sharing simple, human stories".

At the last Super Bowl, that meant a reggae-style Sunny Side teaser video before the big event, followed by its actual Get Happy ad--a cheery office worker with a Jamaican accent and a desire to improve his co-workers' lives, culminating in a ride in his Volkswagen Beetle.

VW also made headlines for its 2011 advert The Force, featuring a Darth Vader-clad kid and his attempts to use Jedi-style powers to manipulate his environment. Sadly, those attempts were unsuccessful--until he manages to start his dad's VW Passat. 2012's advert built on that with a dog named Bolt, whipping himself into shape to chase a new VW Beetle down the road--before cutting to the cantina scene from Star Wars where characters are discussing whether the dog ad or the previous year's Darth Vader advert was better--before Vader himself makes his own opinions felt...

Super Bowl XLVIII, the 48th running of the event, takes place February 2, 2014 at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
