Have you ever wondered what it takes to develop and refine a world-class supercar, built without compromise to take on challengers at the highest end of the price scale? Thanks to Drive, you’ll soon get a chance to find out, as the YouTube channel has recruited Christian Von Koenigsegg to take viewers behind-the-scenes at the company that bears his name.
The nine-part series, previewed above, kicks off on Tuesday, January 8 and covers the Koenigsegg Agera R in detail. According to Guinness, the Agera R currently holds the title of the word’s fastest two-seat production vehicle from 0-300-0 kilometers per hour (0-186-0 mph), achieving this in a mere 21.19 seconds.
Expect the series to be more than just an infomercial for Koenigsegg, too. As Von Koenigsegg explains, innovation is essential to building supercars, and that innovation eventually trickles down to consumer-level products. It may be a stretch to say that buying an Agera R will help improve society, but we understand the theory behind his words.
The series will also seek to explain what makes Koenigsegg cars “the best in the world,” in the words of Von Koenigsegg. We’d be willing to bet that Horacio Pagani would have a differing opinion here, and we can’t help but wonder if a series featuring Pagani is also under development.
This much is certain: we’ll be tuning in to every episode to get a behind-the-scenes look at Koenigsegg and the incredible cars it produces.
