Rapper Birdman Spends $8 Million On Maybach Exelero Coupe?

Rapper Birdman, also known as Bryan Williams, has reportedly spent $8,000,000 on the one-off Maybach Exelero coupe that was built back in 2005 by tire manufacturer Fulda as a rolling test-bed for high-performance rubber.

The Exelero has previously starred in a video clip for rival hip-hop star Jay-Z but despite this fact, in a post on his Twitter page, Birdman said: “They got this new Maybach that I want that costs $8 million, I gotta have it.”

Since that original post Birdman has posted this single pic of the car, as well as confirming that he has purchased it. The co-founder of record company Cash Money Records, Birdman is worth an estimated $100 million so we're sure he can certainly afford it.

Other cars in his collection include a Maybach Landaulet, valued at around $1.5 million, as well as a blood-red Bugatti Veyron, which at $2 million seems like a bargain compared to the Exelero.

Still, the Exelero comes with a luxurious interior and twin-turbocharged V-12 engine outputting some 700 horsepower and 753 pound-feet of torque. With his new ride, Birdman will be able to spring from 0-60 mph in just 4.4 seconds and reach a top speed of around 218 mph.

The seller must have been happy as the car had been on the market since 2008.

    Caddy should do a design study on this. It has sharp angular lines but with curves in just the right places. The XLR coupe should have gotten a similar treatment.

    This car is ridiculous. 8 mil for the Bat-mobile? I get the novelty aspect of it, but I wouldn't waste my money on such frivolity.
    Oh rappers, what would we do without you?

    What is this a joke to spend that much for a car.
    It's just a car and it stills has a engine and wheels
    like Bentleys and other high class american made
    cars.Plus it will still give you problems too.

    The Exelero was built by Stola in Turin (Italy) and purchased by diamond magnate Dr. André Action Diakité Jackson for an enormous investment of $7.8 million USD. At the outset, Maybach experienced a great deal of difficulty getting the supercar street legal, so the vehicle remained concealed until Jackson went before Germany’s TÜV (Technischer Überwachungs-Verein) and made a strong case to get the vehicle certified for on-road use, as indicated by the public relations department at Fulda Reifen.
    In support of his rapper friend’s 37th birthday, Jackson agreed to unveil the Maybach Exelero in Jay-Z’s “Lost One” music video. After driving the Exelero for 6 years, Jackson agreed to sell the vehicle for $8 million USD to rapper “Birdman.”
