Lamborghini’s tradition of V-12-powered sports car goes back to the Italian marque’s first model, the 350 GT of the 1960s. It’s a tradition that’s been held throughout the years with illustrious models such as the Miura, Countach, Diablo and Murciélago, and continues today with the Aventador.

Now Lamborghini is planning something new for its V-12 line of cars, though we’re not sure what that is just yet. The company has released a teaser video showing the lineage of its V-12 cars, with the question “What will be next?” appearing at the end.

It’s likely Lamborghini is simply referring to the updated Aventador that we’ve been spying in prototype form for the past several months. The updated car, which could go by the name Aventador S, goes on sale in 2017 and will bring a more aggressive look and most likely some extra horsepower.

The updated Aventador was expected for a debut next March at the 2017 Geneva auto show. However, the teaser hints that the debut, or perhaps just an online reveal, might take place earlier.

Stay tuned for an update.
