There have been rumblings that we may see as many as ten movies in the Fast and the Furious franchise, and now movies nine and ten have been confirmed.

In a post made on his Instagram page, Vin Diesel, who plays the lead character Dominic Toretto in the franchise, not only confirmed the movies but also their respective release dates.

According to the post, the ninth movie will premiere on April 19, 2019 and the tenth movie on April 2, 2021. The post also reaffirms the release of the eighth movie, Fast 8, on April 14, 2017.

We don’t have any idea where the story will go but we do know that this will end the franchise as we know it. Of course, there may be spin-off movies or even television series, as has been hinted at in the past.

The fact that more movies are coming shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. Diesel has repeatedly hinted at giving the franchise, or “saga” as he refers to it, a proper ending. And it’s not like the fans are getting bored yet. The last movie, Furious 7, quickly managed to rake in more than a billion dollars, although with it being Paul Walker’s last movie there was extra incentive for many to go out and watch it.
