The 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata is easily one of the most anticipated driving machines of the year. We're talking about a car that appears to be clearly focused on making the person behind the wheel quite happy. This is achieved through a low curb weight and high driver involvement. Now we finally know how much it costs to put this feeling in your driveway. The entry Sport trim Miata starts at $25,735, which includes the $820 destination charge.

That starting price includes a six-speed manual gearbox, Bluetooth connectivity, LED highlights, a USB audio input, and power door locks. To be quite honest, that's really all we need to get the ball rolling here. If you desire more, however, you can opt for either the Club or Grand Touring trims.

There's no word on other prices or available options. Mazda though, has stated that the Club trim will cater to those who want a bit more aggression in the overall appearance of the car as well as a more engaging driving experience—it debuts this week at the 2015 New York Auto Show. Grand Touring customers will opt for a Miata that is a bit more spoiled on the inside, and features premium amenities. Either way you order it up, the 2016 MX-5 should be a wonderful driver, and we're itching to get our ham-fisted mitts on it.
