Among the Alpina upgrades to the 6er Gran Coupe: an upgrade of 60 hp to 600 hp and 590 lb-ft total output from the 4.4-liter V-8 twin-turbo engine; a reduction of 0-60-mph acceleration to 3.6 seconds—the quickest Alpina model to date—and an electronically limited top speed of 200 mph.
Other improvements include the Alpina sport suspension with dynamic damper control, and Adaptive Drive active roll stabilization, both of which serve to enhance handling and maintain ride quality. Brakes are upgraded with blue calipers with Alpina branding, wrapping discs measuring 374 mm in diameter at the front and 370 mm at the rear.
Visually, the B6 Alpina xDrive Gran Coupe gets a reworked front end with a more aggressive front spoiler, revised kidney grille, and reshaped front bumper.
Other feature upgrades include an Alpina hand-stitched steering wheel, door sill trim, Alpina luxury wood trim, full LED adaptive headlights, Alpina twin-oval exhaust outlets, and Shadow Line high-gloss B-pillar trim.
Pricing will be announced closer to the Alpina B6 xDrive Gran Coupe’s sales launch in March 2015. The Alpina special is a custom-order vehicle, requiring an additional two weeks of production time to enable the hand-finished Alpina treatment.
