If you’ve seen one burnout, you’ve seen ‘em all, right? No, not really. And certainly not when the new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is involved. This is our entry into the rubber-burning festivities. You will enjoy it.
Or at least, we sure enjoyed making it.
The tires on the Hellcat delivered to us were already only about 1/8” off the wear bars (go figure…), so we didn’t have a lot of rubber to work with before scraping the carcass. That’s why we locked the car into first gear and let it rip, within reason.
The results are, nonetheless, satisfying. Clouds of deliciously stinky tire smoke wafting about, streaks of dark matter staining the loading dock, and a crowd of happy gearheads—what more could we have asked for? (Besides a fresh set of Pirelli P Zeros to destroy, of course).
