BMW’s M Performance bits can help enhance the driving experience for owners of late model BMW vehicles. Previous M Performance offerings have included suspension enhancements, performance exhaust systems, aerodynamic body bits and even an M Performance Electronic Steering Wheel with Efficient Dynamics, Sport and Race display modes.

Now, owners of 2012 and later BMW 335i sedans can feel the love extended to earlier 335i owners, thanks to a new M Performance Power Kit, available for both rear-drive an xDrive models. Priced at $1,100 (plus installation), the kit is available at all Authorized BMW Centers in the United States.

That money buys you a 335is-sized bump in output from 300 to 320 horsepower, while torque is increased from 300 to 332 pound-feet on automatic transmission cars. Owners of manual transmission cars see the same jump in horsepower, but the torque is increased from 300 to just 317 pound-feet.

BMW says that’s enough to drop the car’s 0-60 time by 0.2 seconds, while reducing the 50-75 mph acceleration time by 0.5 seconds. On a 2013 BMW 335i, that should translate to a 0-60 time of just 5.2 seconds.

While the kit includes new ECU software (or an entirely new ECU, depending upon model), it also includes a high-flow intake, an M Performance engine cover and decals for the car’s rocker panels. BMW backs the kit with a 4 year, 50,000 mile warranty, and claims that fuel economy and emission output remain unchanged.
