BMW 335i Performance Edition Kit, Retrofit Package: Report

2011 BMW 3-Series Coupe

Those of you that own an E90 BMW 335i and are looking enviously at the 335is model, perhaps even wishing you'd waited to buy, worry no more: BMW is reportedly planning a new 335i Performance Edition, and it can be retrofitted to existing cars.

The benefit? 20 more horsepower and 32 more pound-feet of torque, just like the 335is engine. That translates to a pickup of .02 seconds in the 60 mph, according to e90post, but that's shaving it a bit close for real-world measurement, so it's possible there's a misplaced decimal there.

Also included in the kit is a new black kidney grille for a meaner look, performance edition badges, and a scant $550 price tag. Not a bad deal at all.

The new kit is available on all 335i models, including new purchases, as long as they also have the Sport or M Sport packages. It should reach dealers in August.

  1. The E90 is such a nice car, regardless of engine size or performance package.
