It won’t be on sale until the third quarter of the year, but the first television ad for the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has just aired, revealing car in motion for the first time, and at a race track, no less.

Titled Enemy Of The Same, the ad is likely to be the first in a series of clips centering on the stunning sports car, and it’s also the latest to feature in Chevy’s Find New Roads campaign.

As automaker explains in its official synopsis for the ad, the new Corvette’s design "dismisses the ritualistic and the cliché," and we think the artistic black and white imagery and limited views of the actual car in the latest ad are certainly in keeping with the new Corvette's high sense of style and performance-oriented design.

The best part, however, is hearing the growl of its 6.2-liter LT1 V-8, which emits a note much more menacing than the old LS3 it replaces.

With GM choosing not to advertise at the Super Bowl this year, the ad won’t be shown during the game. However, that doesn’t mean a Corvette won’t be seen as it’s rumored the car may appear alongside singer Beyonce during the halftime show.

We’ll know soon. In the meantime, you can access our complete coverage on the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray by clicking here.
