If you love glow plugs and green-handled fuel pumps, get ready to love some new Audis. The German luxury carmaker will be bringing four new diesels for the U.S. market to the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The Audi A6, A7, A8, and Q5 will all get TDI "clean diesel" versions next week, joining the Q7 and A3 TDI to bring Audi's diesel offerings to a total of six.

Under the hood of the four new diesel models (it looks like) we'll see the same engine: the 3.0-liter V-6 TDI. Producing 240 horsepower puts it about on par with your average 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder, but it backs up that figure with a V-8-like 406 pound-feet of torque. That enables even the A8 flagship to scamper to 60 mph in just 6.4 seconds.

Audi expects the 2013 A8 TDI to score 24 mpg city and 36 mpg highway. As yet, Audi hasn't released gas mileage ratings for the TDI engine in the other new models, but considering the Q7's EPA-rated 19 mpg city and 28 mpg highway and Audi's own estimates for the A8, we wouldn't be too surprised to see figures above 24 mpg city and 36 mpg highway range for the smaller, sleeker sedans and perhaps even for the compact Q5 crossover.

The full details of all four new Audi diesels will be revealed next week, and you can keep up with them and all of the latest happenings at the 2012 L.A. Auto Show at our dedicated show page or see the highlights of what's coming in our preview.
