Coinciding with the recent launch of the new video game Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, Ford’s Australian subsidiary has presented via its official Facebook page a conceptual design for a new Transformers character based on its Falcon sedan. Called Falcatron, the new Ford Falcon Transformer is said to be an Autobot and was designed with input from the automaker's fans.

In determining the final look of Falcatron, Ford asked its fans which model from its lineup should be used for his civilian mode, as well as what color he should be and whether he should be an Autobot or a Decepticon.

The particular model chosen by Ford fans was a high-performance Falcon XR6 Turbo, which sports a turbocharged 4.0-liter straight-six engine sending 362 horsepower to the rear wheels. For its transformation into a Transformer, the car was given a unique purple color, aggressive bodykit and a strange hatch design at the rear.

Ford has said it plans to use Falcatron in some promotional materials, but don’t hold your breath waiting to see him in Transformers 4. By the time the fourth installment of the popular movie series is released, the Falcon sedan on which he's based may not even be in production anymore.
