Ford’s Special Vehicle Team, or SVT, has been making Mustangs (and other Ford products) faster since the debut of the SVT Mustang Cobra in early 1993. To honor the 20th anniversary of SVT, Ford will roll out a special display in Mustang Alley at this year’s Woodward Dream Cruise.

Over 800 Mustangs will be on display, ranging from the original 1964 models to the current 662-horsepower 2013 Shelby GT500. Pro-drifter and Mustang marketer Vaughn Gittin Jr. will be on hand to thrill crowds and shred tires, and Ford promises to have professional drivers in a “Burn Out Box” to provide the heady aroma of tire smoke.

Attendees can enter a raffle to win the customized 2013 Boss 302 Laguna Seca edition shown here, with proceeds going to the Michigan Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Tickets are $10 each, or three for $20, and one lucky entrant will drive off in the Boss 302 with unique paint and graphics, custom Ford Racing wheels and a coupon for the dealer-supplied TracKey.

Also on display will be other vehicles form the SVT catalog, including the new Focus ST,  the Raptor pickup, numerous Ford GTs and the original Ford muscle truck, the F-150 Lightening. There’s no admission charge for the exhibit, which can be found at the corner of 9 Mile Road and Woodward Avenue.

If you can't make the exhibit, you may want to grab this chart (PDF link) detailing the history of Ford's SVT products.
