Ever wondered how automakers create those future-looking renderings of their upcoming models?

As you may have guessed it’s painstaking work but this latest video from AMG makes it look easy.

The video, filmed in time-lapse photography, shows one of AMG's designers penning out the recently launched 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG, starting from a blank piece of paper and ending up with the awesome digital design you see above.

What’s interesting to note is that even with all the technology involved these days in designing new cars, the first step almost always begins with a person sitting at a desk, pencil in hand and a real piece of paper in front of them.

Enjoy the video and then click here for our own review of the 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG.
