Remember the stretched Bentley Mulsanne created by ArmorTech? Well, the Russian firm’s latest project, this stretched Audi A8 L, may not be as ambitious but it’s still very interesting to see the level of modification and attention to detail that ArmorTech’s engineers instill on the custom armored car.

While most would find the Audi A8 L long enough, ArmorTech adds an additional 400 mm to the length of the car by extending both the front and rear doors. In this case, an additional 150 mm is added to the front, with the rest going to the rear compartment.

Of course, this is no backyard cut-and-weld job. ArmorTech’s engineers ensure that the appropriate modifications to the brakes, chassis and suspension are made depending on how much extra length and weight are added.

Additionally, the car is upgraded with a host of luxury amenities including a retractable glass panel to separate the front compartment from the rear, leather, Alcantara and wood veneer trim, and a complete media center.

As for the armored modifications, ArmorTech can upgrade the A8 to a B6 protection rating, which means it will include everything from bullet proof glass to explosive-resistant high-strength steel and Kevlar materials.

The drivetrain, meanwhile, is kept completely stock, which means there’s a 6.3-liter W-12 engine rated at 500 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque under the hood, sending drive to all four wheels.
