NASCAR star Kyle Busch, currently third in the Sprint Cup standings, was pulled over on a road near his home in Mooresville, North Carolina yesterday for speeding in a bright yellow 2012 Lexus LFA not unlike the one pictured above.

Busch was driving with his wife Samantha in the car at a speed of 128 mph in a 45 mph zone when he was spotted by local police and subsequently pulled over.

He was given a citation for speeding, as well as careless and reckless driving, and has since apologized for his actions, stating that he will never do anything like that again--on public roads at least.

The yellow LFA Busch was driving was on loan to him from Lexus and was to be returned the next day.

Interestingly, this wasn’t Busch’s first traffic citation.

In 2006 he was issued a summons for reckless driving in Richmond, Virginia for screeching his tires in a fast food parking lot, and in 2008 he was reportedly cited for doing 55 mph in a 35 mph zone in Iredell County, North Carolina.

    Perth Rd. is a windy, hilly road that connects Mooresville and Troutman...I drive it quite often and I must say this guy is an idiot for not only putting himself in that mess, but his wife as well.
    That kind of speed and a citizen like me would lose his license, but Kyle Busch will find a way to get out of it with a high price attorney, and this story will probably break again in the future. What a bonehead.

    of course nascar wont take action on this matter. its kyle busch thank god no innocent people got killed due to reckless disregard for human life. i hope his sponsors pull the plug on this lo-life.

    Damn.. that's almost 3 TIMES the speed limit. And if it's true this is a winding, hilly road.. god damn he should get a driving ban or even lose his license.

    He was driving a super car, not a Prius. It does 0-60 in 3.6 seconds, and prolly 60-120 in another 3 or so seconds. It's not like he was driving miles and miles at 100+

    Super Cars produce super-exotic-spectacularly fatal accidents too, in which not only the driver but also innocent people may die, and the super drivers of this forums are not exempt. You know in Finland, they give you traffic tickets according to your annual income. Last year by 12/27/2010 this guy got a $103000 ticket, I can only imagine the speed this guy was going and his annual income...Do you like extreme driving? How about an extreme ticket? They should bring that to US, and that will be the end of reckless speeding.

    Anything over 75 and the drivers book in NC states they can take your license on the spot. He wasn't out in the country. This road has driveways on it. Anyone else caught would still be in jail and they would of taken the car. Can't wait until he gets rubbed out of the Coke 600 this weekend!

    Perth road is way too narrow and curvy to be doing 128mph. I ride my bike along that road pretty frequently and that's an accident waiting to happen. I actually happened to see him driving the LFA around in the Huntersville Business Park (behind Joe Gibbs Racing) the day before he got pulled over, and it was one sexy vehicle, but he needs to keep that shit on the track or on private roads. If you must speed, do it on the highway where at least you can guarantee everybody is going in the same direction. There are too many driveways, pedestrians, etc along Perth to do what he was doing.

That being said, all Kyle has proven is that he is truely as dumb as he seems.Though I am curious as to whether his wife was sitting upright or her head is his lap.He has no respect for human life and his video appology was complete bullshot. "I'm sorry now lets forget it and move on." BITE ME KYLE, YOU ARE A LOSER IN LIFE.
