Aftermarket tuner Hennessey Performance Engineering has added more power to Ford's ferocious F-150 Raptor pickup with the Hennessey Velociraptor 500, and now Top Gear USA has had a chance to test it, with the Stig behind the wheel.


The truck has a 501-horsepower supercharged 5.4-liter V-8, high-flow air induction, stainless steel headers and catback exhaust, and special exterior and interior badging.

There's also a one-year/12,000-mile limited warranty.

Hennessey claims the truck can run 0-60 in 5.6 seconds and hit the quarter-mile in 14.1 seconds.

    Can someone enlighten me about why anyone would need that much power in a pick up truck?
    I wonder what kind of mileage it gets; 8-9 mpg maybe?
