2012 Nissan GT-R EGOIST

When the facelifted 2012 Nissan GT-R range rolled out late last year, not only were we treated with some new styling and a more powerful engine, but the introduction of two completely new models as well.

These new models include the racing circuit dedicated "Club Track" edition and an ultra-exclusive "EGOIST" version designed to be fully tailored to a customer's every whim.

Unfortunately, neither of these models is being launched in the U.S. so we all we have are these images to lust over. This particular gallery post features the luxury-oriented GT-R EGOIST, showing off both the car’s exterior and stunning cabin.

The Nissan GT-R EGOIST is aimed at a very different type of buyer to those normally seeking the Japanese supercar. Each customer can choose a combination of interior colors among 20 choices. In addition, the Bose sound system in the EGOIST is exclusively tuned according to the driving position of each driver to meet every customer's personal needs.

For the interior trim, parts are sent to the Seton Company in Germany where leather master craftsmen sew and stick carefully selected leather by hand. Seats are an exclusive quilted design with single and double stitching combined in a reticular pattern.

The leather Seton uses comes from specially nurtured cows, which are kept in a conditioned environment to protect their hides from insect bites and barbed-wire fence damage. A total of 15 hides are required for every Nissan GT-R EGOIST.

To finish off the interior, a special Japanese lacquer GT-R emblem is fitted at the center of the steering wheel. On the outside there is a carbon fiber rear spoiler similar to the one on the SpecV model, as well as a titanium exhaust and RAYS alloy wheels finished in a Blue Sword color.

    Bad stuff?

  2. I can't believe that Nissan would be so short sighted that they do not sell the EGOIST model in the USA. When someone spends well over $ 100,000 for a car, they would well be interested in spending a little more on customization. Yes, I can understand that there might be problems with logistics as far as some of the components in a custom car are concerned, but come on, Nissan - when your capable of building brilliant cars like the GT-R, you can surely find a solution to a mere logistics problem! Look at this as equalling even more sales of a great car!
