Sounding like a cross between a pissed-off jungle cat and a million-strong cloud of very angry bees, the MINI Countryman World Rally car was caught testing in Portugal this week by an amateur camera.

The footage isn't all that revealing--no more so than the officially released photo--but it does confirm the WRC Countryman is being put through its paces as the Prodrive team behind the car's development gears up for the 2011 season. The new Countryman rally car recently cleared the shakedown phase and is now entering the second leg of testing. Final aerodynamics and bodywork are yet to be developed.
